You almost have to feel sorry for Illinois ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich. In the past few months the man has been arrested on federal charges, thrown out of office, and banned from ever holding public office in Illinois again. Now things are so bad for Blagojevich that even minor league baseball teams are mocking him.
The Joliet JackHammers, a minor league baseball team located in Illinois’ Will County, faxed a contract to Blagojevich’s publicist. The contract offers him an $800 dollar a month salary and a free boarding at a house family.
This is when the story gets very weird, sad, and pathetic.
The ex-Governor is seriously considering the offer. In a statement released through his publicist Blagojevich declared that if the JackHammers were serious, he would consider the offer.
I can just imagine Rod being completely ecstatic about the offer. I am sure this just further fed his delusions. I am sure he honestly believes the JackHammers want him for his baseball prowess and not for the fact that people would love to watch the disposed, humiliated governor make a fool of himself.
Oh Rod. What will you do next?
