Insert generic Gary Coleman joke

Well, I’m sure you know by now. The Sears Tower, the nations tallest building, will soon become the Willis Tower.

Now, seeing as how Pretzel Day has Chicago roots, you might think we are incredibly upset and very passionate about the name change.

Well I got news for you.

We’re not.

Things change. Times goes on. Grown-ups do not expect things to remain the same. That is immature and naive.

For example, Michael Jordan was a Chicago Bull and wore number 23. Then he was a Birmingham Baron. Then he was a Bull again, but he wore number 45. Then he went back to 23. Then he retired. Then he unretired again and, but was a Wizard.

Things change constantly. Will Ferrell movies used to be funny, (Old School, Anchorman) but they aren’t anymore. (Blades of Glory, Step Brothers). Katelynn from The Real World: Brooklyn used to be a man, but, technically, isn’t anymore.

Stop being so upset. The corporate sponsor of a buidling has changed. There will still be happiness in the world. Any fond memories you might have of the Sears Tower will remain in tact. Grow up.

Hope you all had a good weekend and, as always, thank you for your continued support of Pretzel Day.

In other news, Willis (whatever that is) wasted quite a bit of money, seeing how no one will refer to the building as Willis Tower.
